Lava Hot Springs is more than just a waterpark; it’s a gateway to numerous outdoor adventures and natural wonders in Southeast Idaho. To make the most of your visit, consider these factors:

  1. Best Time to Visit: The summer months (June-August) offer the warmest weather, ideal for enjoying the waterpark and outdoor activities. However, be prepared for larger crowds during peak season. Hiking and biking trails abound in the surrounding mountains, offering breathtaking views of the valley. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Oregon Trail Center in nearby Montpelier, where you can learn about the history of the pioneers who traversed this region.
  3. Accommodation Options: Besides the Sleep Inn & Suites in Idaho Falls, Lava Hot Springs boasts a variety of lodging options, including hotels, motels, vacation rentals, and campgrounds. Consider your budget and preferences when choosing accommodations. Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially during the summer months.

  5. Day Trips from Lava Hot Springs: Its central location makes Lava Hot Springs an excellent base for exploring other attractions in the region. Yellowstone National Park is a relatively easy day trip, offering unparalleled opportunities to witness geysers, hot springs, and wildlife. Other nearby attractions include Bear Lake, known for its turquoise-blue waters, and Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve, a unique volcanic landscape.
