I highly recommend the Lavender Dream Latte, which can be customized to be dairy-free or vegan. Pair it with one of their freshly baked scones for a truly delightful experience. I personally savored the peanut butter chocolate chip scone and it was absolutely divine!

Located in the heart of downtown Roseburg, Brix Grill is an excellent choice for lunch. And the best part? You can enjoy breakfast here until 3 pm!

The spacious restaurant and its adjacent bar area share an extensive menu, offering something for everyone. The 527 Burger, pictured above, is a local favorite. However, be prepared to strategize your approach to conquer this colossal beef masterpiece. Served with a generous portion of waffle fries, the 527 Burger is substantial enough to be shared between two people.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the avocado toast, which was topped with a perfectly fried egg, feta cheese, and fresh microgreens. The combination of flavors and textures was simply delightful.

Next on my Roseburg culinary adventure was Backside Brewing Co. This local brewery is the perfect place to recharge after a morning of exploring the Umpqua Valley. I stopped by after a hike to Susan Creek Falls, and it was exactly what I needed.

Their pizza is incredibly popular, and for good reason. I ordered the meat lover’s pizza and was blown away. In my opinion, it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Oregon! The balance of fresh toppings, a light amount of sauce, and just the right amount of cheese was spot-on. Seriously, it was SO GOOD!

To accompany my pizza, I tried Backside Brewing’s popular Chasing Hazy IPA. It was the ideal pairing.

If the weather is pleasant, grab a seat outside. They have high tables under a covered area, as well as picnic tables on the lawn with lawn games for your entertainment.

I started my meal with the gluten-free Ahi Tataki ($14). The presentation was stunning, featuring either blackened or sashimi ahi tuna (I opted for sashimi), a garlic-lemon tamari glaze, wasabi, pickled ginger, and nori. This is an ideal dish to share among a group of four.

For my main course, I adored the Seared Scallops ($32). During my visit, the scallops were served with bacon jam and parmesan-herb orzo, topped with sautéed greens, olive oil grilled haricot verts, and heirloom carrots. It was simply divine!

True Kitchen + Bar prides itself on making everything from scratch daily, including their delectable desserts. One of their most popular desserts is the Skillet Cookie ($9). This double chocolate chip, hazelnut skillet cookie is topped with Umpqua Dairy vanilla bean ice cream, a drizzle of homemade caramel, and a sprinkle of sea salt. It’s a truly unforgettable dessert experience.

For a romantic date night or a special occasion, celebrate at The Parrot House. This stunning Victorian-style house is listed on the National Historic Registry. You can choose to sit in the casual bar area or dine in the formal dining room. Outdoor seating is also available on sunny days.

The menu at The Parrot House is fairly traditional, but the chef is committed to using local ingredients in every dish. I highly recommend the 3 Beet Salad ($12); the lavender honey drizzle is exquisite, and the pepitas provide a delightful salty crunch.

The Filet Mignon ($35) is made with local beef, and I appreciate the option to add some “surf” to your “turf.” I took my waitress’s recommendation and added scallops ($10), and I’m so glad I did. The scallops were absolutely delicious!
