Experience Authentic Italian Cuisine at Catelli’s in Geyserville, Sonoma County
Planning a trip to Sonoma County wine country? No visit is complete without indulging in the region’s culinary delights. For a truly memorable dining experience, make sure to stop by Catelli’s, a celebrated Geyserville restaurant known for its hearty, classic Italian fare and an impressive selection of exclusive local wines. Catelli’s consistently ranks as one of our top recommendations for dining in Geyserville, and for good reason.

Let’s be honest: wine tasting isn’t complete without a delicious meal to complement those luscious vinos. While a casual picnic can be enjoyable for a quick winery visit, a full weekend or week-long exploration of wine country calls for a more substantial and satisfying dining experience. Taking the time to savor a complete meal between wine tasting stops allows you to fully appreciate the region’s culinary offerings and enhance your overall wine country adventure.
During my recent trip to Sonoma County wine country, in collaboration with Rodney Strong Vineyards, I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Catelli’s in Geyserville, California. This charming restaurant proved to be a true highlight of the trip, offering a delightful blend of authentic Italian flavors and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Catelli’s: A Geyserville Culinary Staple

If you’re seeking recommendations from locals on where to eat in the Geyserville or Healdsburg area, Catelli’s is almost certain to be among the top suggestions. This beloved restaurant has earned a stellar reputation for its consistently delicious food, warm hospitality, and commitment to using fresh, local ingredients.
A third-generation family-owned establishment, Catelli’s is ideally situated in Geyserville, right in the heart of Sonoma County. Its location between the renowned Dry Creek and Alexander Valley wine regions makes it a perfect culinary destination for wine enthusiasts exploring the area.

Stepping into Catelli’s is like stepping into the quintessential Sonoma County experience. It strikes a perfect balance – more relaxed and approachable than its sophisticated wine country cousin, Napa, yet more upscale and refined than the Willamette Valley in Oregon to the north. This unique atmosphere contributes to the overall charm and appeal of Catelli’s.
The interior design is warm and inviting, featuring rustic touches of brick, reclaimed wood, and copper accents. These elements create a cozy and comfortable ambiance that enhances the dining experience.

Upon entering Catelli’s, you’ll be greeted by a welcoming bar area to your left, complete with smaller, more casual tables. Moving further inside, you’ll discover a larger, more formal dining area. Catelli’s also offers versatile event spaces, both indoors and outdoors, making it an ideal venue for special occasions.
A Culinary Journey: Exploring the Food at Catelli’s
Catelli’s lunch and dinner menus share many similarities, offering a delightful selection of dishes that cater to a variety of tastes. During our visit, we sampled a range of longtime customer favorites, as well as some enticing specials, to get a comprehensive understanding of what diners can expect at this beloved wine country eatery. From the very first bite, it became clear why Catelli’s is considered one of the best restaurants in Geyserville.

We began our culinary adventure with the Burrata and Prosciutto ($17.50). This beautifully presented appetizer features a wooden plank adorned with creamy triple-cream mozzarella, delicate San Daniele prosciutto, and fresh baby arugula. It’s served alongside a plate of grilled bread and high-quality Dry Creek Olive Oil, creating a truly classic wine country starter that perfectly complements the local wines.

Next, we sampled Nonnie’s Minestrone ($5.25 for a cup/$8.50 for a bowl), a warm and hearty soup that’s perfect for a chilly day. This flavorful bowl is packed with cannellini, navy, and garbanzo beans, along with a generous assortment of fresh vegetables, all finished with a healthy dose of parmesan cheese. I could easily enjoy this minestrone every day! It boasts a thicker, richer consistency than most minestrones I’ve tasted at other restaurants, making it a truly exceptional and satisfying soup that perfectly complements the main entrees at Catelli’s.

One of our Rodney Strong Vineyards hosts enthusiastically declared that Catelli’s Kale Salad ($14.75) is the best they’ve ever tasted, and I must admit, it’s incredibly delicious! The organic kale is expertly massaged to achieve a pleasantly palatable texture and then combined with a refreshing citrus blend of Meyer lemon and blood orange. The salad is further enhanced with crushed croutons, crushed nuts, another generous helping of parmesan cheese, and a drizzle of Dry Creek Olive Oil.

Another recommendation from our hosts was the Baby Beet Salad ($8.50 half/$14.75 full). This delightful salad features a light and refreshing combination of organic beets and arugula, dressed with Sparrow Lane Golden balsamic, Dry Creek Olive Oil, and crispy prosciutto.

During our lunch at Catelli’s, one of the specials of the day was a local chicken dish prepared with an array of fresh, locally sourced vegetables. Talk about farm-to-table freshness! I had the opportunity to sample this entree, and the chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The vegetables were perfectly prepared and lightly seasoned, creating a harmonious and delicious dish that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Catelli’s Ravioli ($20.95 meat/$18.95 cheese) is undoubtedly a dish I highly recommend ordering when you dine at Catelli’s. This housemade ravioli is incredibly fresh, and the 3-meat filling is bursting with flavor. Whether you choose the meat or cheese-filled ravioli, you’ll have the option to select from three delicious sauce choices: butter garlic, Richard’s meat sauce, or DC’s sauce.
Wine Bliss: Pairing Local Wines with Delicious Cuisine
Given its location in the heart of wine country, it’s no surprise that Catelli’s boasts an impressive and well-curated wine list featuring a wide selection of local wines. The knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect pairing to enhance your dining experience.

To begin, we savored the Rodney Strong 2014 Chalk Hill Chardonnay ($39). This elegant Chardonnay paired beautifully with the Burrata and Prosciutto appetizer, as well as with the refreshing Kale Salad.

We also enjoyed the Davis Bynum Jane’s Vineyard 2014 Pinot Noir ($53), a smooth, medium-bodied red wine with prominent red berry flavors and a subtle hint of cola. I particularly enjoyed this wine with the pasta and the minestrone, as its rich flavors complemented the dishes perfectly.
