Recipe FAQs

How thick should the pancake batter be?

As you mix it, the batter should be thin enough that it doesn't stick to a spoon or whisk but not too watery. Pour it into the pan until it's about 1/4 inch thick.

Should We let the pancake batter rest?

Resting the batter for about 10 minutes can help it rise and cook more evenly, as it gives the milk time to dissolve any lumps that be remaining in the flour.

Can We prevent the chips from melting when cooking?

You can help limit melting by chilling the chips in the refrigerator before adding them to the batter. You can also use dark chocolate as it has a higher melting point about 5 degrees higher than milk chocolate or semi-sweet.
