Anderson Family Vineyard
For over three decades, Cliff Anderson and his family have been crafting wines on their hilltop vineyard, boasting stunning views of Newberg. The vineyard’s steep slopes and ancient soil contribute to producing some of the region’s finest wines. Cliff and his team specialize in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with a limited production of Pinot Gris, all organically farmed. The tasting experience is often hosted by Cliff or his wife, Allison, offering insights into their winemaking process.
During the tasting, guests are treated to a vertical sample of their signature Pinots, showcasing vintages dating back to 2014. The Pinot Gris is truly exceptional, a testament to their winemaking expertise.

Bells Up Winery
Owners Sara and Dave Specter are highly respected figures in the Oregon wine industry. Bells Up Winery offers a deeply personal wine tasting experience in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.
Tastings are conducted by winemaker Dave, offering guests the opportunity to ask questions, relax, and savor the vineyard views. With only four private tasting sessions a day, each guided by Dave, you’re guaranteed a unique and intimate experience.
Among their exceptional wines, the 2014 Titan Pinot Noir ($85) stands out as a bright and refreshing red. Their Prelude Rosé, with its notes of strawberry, watermelon, and tangerine, and the Firebird Syrah, a full-bodied wine with black cherry and nutmeg flavors, are also highly recommended.

Chehalem Winery
Chehalem Winery, established in 1990, began with Pinot Noir cultivation on its Ridgecrest vineyard. In 2018, Bill Stoller of Stoller Winery became the sole owner, bringing Chehalem under the Stoller umbrella. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, their vineyards are LIVE and Salmon Safe certified, with no herbicides used.
Known for single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and crisp Chardonnays, Chehalem wines offer a range of styles. The Newberg tasting room offers the opportunity to explore the diversity of their offerings.
For a versatile everyday wine, the 2019 Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir ($30), with its bold notes of cherry and cranberry, is a great option. For a more complex experience, the 2018 Chehalem Reserve Pinot Noir ($70) features elegant tannins and subtly smoky flavors.

Domaine Divio
Domaine Divio is co-owned by winemaker Bruno Corneaux, a fourth-generation grape grower from Burgundy, and André Weil. They planted their first vines on the Newberg property in 2015, consisting of 11 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, farmed sustainably.
Their Chardonnay is typically oaky and buttery with hints of citrus and toasted hazelnuts. They also produce a rosé that is perfect for summer days.
Domaine Divio offers several Pinot Noirs, with the Chehalem Mountain Pinot Noir ($55) being a standout. With its fuller body and strong notes of ripe cherry, this Pinot Noir is distinct. The spacious tasting room and expansive outdoor patio make it perfect for tasting or enjoying a glass of wine.

Et Fille
Et Fille means “and daughter” in French, founded by the father-daughter team of Howard and Jessica Mozeico. Jessica carries on her father’s legacy by crafting elegant wines. Pinot Noir is the focus, with a fantastic Méthode Champenoise sparkling wine. The tasting room in downtown Newberg is well worth a visit.

Hazelfern
Owners Bryan and Laura Laing opened Hazelfern after buying a farm in the Chehalem Mountains in 2014, building a winery and tasting room in a former barn. They produce tasty wines, specializing in Pinot Noir. The 2019 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir ($39) offers strawberry, currants, and vanilla flavors.
Hazelfern also produces some of the best Rosé in the Valley. The 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir ($29) offers fruity, approachable flavors of peaches and persimmons.
In autumn, they release a Winter Rosé, designed to be enjoyed with fall and winter dishes. Be sure to make a reservation.

Natalie’s Estate Winery
Natalie’s Estate Winery produces wines with fruit from around the Pacific Northwest. With bold reds, it’s a great place to taste wines made with fruit from the Columbia Valley, as well as a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. Rain Dance Vineyards
If wine tasting with llamas and an artisan shop sounds like your idea of a good time, add Rain Dance Vineyards to your itinerary. Llamas Oscar and Bonzi are part of the winery greeting committee, and the tasting room is set in a big red barn. The family purchased a Christmas tree farm and planted their first vines.
They released their first Rain Dance vintage in 2015, a Pinot Noir. Since then, they have also produced Chardonnay, Gewürtztraminer, Rose, and Riesling. This is a place to bring friends and family, pack a picnic, and open up a bottle to enjoy the wine country views.

Raptor Ridge Winery
Scott Shull started Raptor Ridge Winery in 1995. The beautiful vineyards now total about 20 acres. Grape varieties include Pommard and Grüner Veltliner, but Pinot Noir is the focus, with their Estate Pinot Noir ($50) and Estate Whole Cluster ($50). They also make several single vineyard wines such as Meredith Mitchell ($45).
For something a bit different, try the Auxerrois ($35), a bright white wine with notes of Asian pear and spices.

Roco Winery
Roco is one of the top wineries in the Newberg area and in all of the Willamette Valley.
Owners Rollin Soles and Corby Stonebraker-Soles are local wine pioneers, having worked in the Oregon wine industry since the 1980s. Visit their inviting Newberg tasting room and enjoy a cozy, personal experience.
We stopped by earlier this year and sampled several Pinot Noirs. Some favorites include the 2019 Marsh Estate Pinot Noir ($60) and the 2014 Private Stash Pinot Noir, intense and velvety with notes of black currants and anise (call Roco for pricing). For something truly unique, try the 2020 RMS Red Brut ($50). This inaugural Sparkling Red Wine Pinot Noir is dark in color and lively on the palate, with aromas of cranberry, black raspberry, and pecans.
