Unforgettable Central Oregon Road Trip: A Family Adventure
Planning an epic Central Oregon road trip? Get ready for breathtaking scenery, unforgettable experiences, and quality time with loved ones. This guide will provide you with ideas on where to stop and what to do to make your trip truly special.

As summer fades and the school year approaches, there’s no better way to celebrate than with a family road trip. We recently embarked on our own Central Oregon adventure, squeezing every last drop of joy from the sunny season.
Balancing work, parenting, and personal time can be challenging, especially for entrepreneurial parents. However, these moments of togetherness are priceless. This trip, though requiring some late nights to catch up on work, was worth every ounce of effort. It’s about prioritizing what truly matters: family.
Driving through the mountains, we were greeted by the majestic views of Mount Hood, a sight that never fails to inspire awe.
My husband, Mr. Bliss, and I make a great team. While I handle the editing and storytelling, he captures the stunning photos. Despite his demanding work schedule, he joined us for a portion of the trip, highlighting our commitment to making family time a priority. Life is a beautiful blend of chaos, joy, and imperfection, and we embrace it all.
Vacations require planning and hard work, but the rewards – the memories, the laughter, the connection – are immeasurable. This trip was no exception.
As avid coffee lovers, my husband and I rely on our daily brew to power through our busy lives. On this trip, coffee was essential.

A special thank you to Starbucks Coffee for providing us with a wonderful assortment of iced coffee treats to keep us energized during our road trip. Their generosity added a delicious touch to our adventure.

We packed our cooler with DoubleShot Coffee & Protein cans, Frappuccino bottles, and Iced Coffee bottles, ensuring we had a refreshing pick-me-up whenever we needed it.
The Starbucks Iced Coffee was a game-changer. It’s incredibly refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the ideal companion for appreciating the breathtaking landscapes of Central Oregon. It helped us stay alert and focused on enjoying every moment.

Our first destination was Smith Rock State Park, where we met up with family – my parents, cousins, and their families. It was the perfect spot to reconnect and create lasting memories.
Located near Redmond, Oregon, Smith Rock State Park boasts awe-inspiring scenery and a variety of activities. From picnicking and hiking to rock climbing and slacklining, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Simply soaking in the beauty of Smith Rock was enough to rejuvenate my soul. The majestic rock formations and the crisp, clean air created a sense of peace and tranquility.
After our visit to Smith Rock, we continued our journey to our main destination: Sunriver Resort.
For four days and three nights, our families immersed themselves in the joys of summer at Sunriver Resort. We rode bikes and scooters, explored scenic riverside paths, engaged in intense Monopoly Empire games, belted out karaoke tunes, enjoyed the thrills of bumper cars, and spent countless hours at the pool. Since most schools were already in session, we often had one of the smaller resort pools all to ourselves, creating a truly private and relaxing experience.
It was absolute heaven. A perfect escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.

We also took the time to visit the Lava Lands Visitors Center and the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, immersing ourselves in the geological wonders of the region. Learning about the volcanic history and exploring the unique landscape was a fascinating experience for the whole family.
Family time is my ultimate priority. Despite the challenges of juggling work and personal life, I strive to make these moments happen. I cherish every second and never take it for granted.
It often feels like I’m constantly saying “no” to work opportunities, but I still feel overwhelmed by the number of commitments I have. Finding the right balance is an ongoing struggle. However, family time is non-negotiable. I’m incredibly grateful that my husband and I can prioritize it as much as we do.
This summer trip was a resounding success. The laughter, the bonding, and the shared experiences created memories that will last a lifetime. The kids connected with their cousins, I reconnected with my own cousins, and my parents had the time of their lives.
This trip was food for the soul. It reaffirmed my commitment to saying “yes” to opportunities that align with my values and saying “no” to those that don’t. It’s about being intentional and making choices that prioritize what truly matters.
To summer, friends! I hope you had a wonderful one as well. May your memories be filled with joy, laughter, and cherished moments with loved ones.
