GOOGLY-EYED HALLOWEEN LOLLIPOP SPIDERS

These adorable lollipop spiders are a delightful and edible Halloween craft. They’re fun to make and even more fun to eat! This craft is a great way to add a spooky-sweet touch to your Halloween celebrations.

What I love most about this craft is its dual purpose. After the class party or Halloween festivities, kids can simply enjoy the lollipops. Any craft that offers a second life as a treat or party favor is a winner in my book!

SUPPLIES:

• Black tissue paper, cut into approximately 4″ squares
• Lollipops
• Black pipe cleaners, cut in half (4 pieces total per spider = 8 spider legs)
• Googly eyes (various sizes)
• Craft glue

DIRECTIONS:

1. Wrap the lollipop securely with a square of black tissue paper.
2. Take one pipe cleaner half and wrap it tightly around the base of the lollipop, securing the tissue paper. Then, wrap the remaining three pipe cleaner halves around the base, making sure the ends are spread out evenly to create the spider’s legs. To further secure the legs, you can wrap one pipe cleaner over another or tie each strand into a knot as you add them.
3. Using craft glue, attach googly eyes to the “head” of the spider. Get creative and use different sizes or even multiple eyes for a truly monstrous look!

GOOGLY-EYED HALLOWEEN MINI PUMPKINS

I have a fondness for cute pumpkins and prefer to avoid the blood and gore of traditional carvings. Instead of carving, I love decorating pumpkins in creative ways. Last year, my glitter obsession extended to pumpkin decorating, and this year, I’ve come up with this simple yet adorable idea for those sweet mini pumpkins you can’t resist picking up at the pumpkin patch or even the grocery store.

SUPPLIES:

• Mini pumpkin(s)
• Googly eyes (assorted sizes)
• Washi tape (various Halloween-themed patterns)
• Ribbon or twine
• Craft glue

DIRECTIONS:

There’s no right or wrong way to approach this craft, so let your creativity flow! Here’s how I created my googly-eyed mini pumpkin:

1. Start by gluing the googly eyes onto the pumpkin. Arrange them in a random pattern or create a specific expression.
2. Cut strips of washi tape and apply them from the stem to the base of the pumpkin, spacing the strips evenly around the pumpkin. Use different patterns of washi tape for a more vibrant and playful look.
3. Optionally, you can draw a simple jack-o’-lantern face on the mini pumpkin using a marker or paint.
4. Tie a ribbon or twine around the stem for an extra touch of cuteness.

GOOGLY-EYED HALLOWEEN MONSTER PENCILS

Transform ordinary pencils into monstrously fun Halloween accessories with this quick and easy craft. These googly-eyed monster pencils are perfect for party favors, classroom rewards, or simply adding a touch of Halloween spirit to your everyday writing.

We’ve created variations of these DIY monster pencils for various holidays, including Easter, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and New Year’s. This craft is incredibly versatile and makes a fantastic rainy-day activity for younger children.

SUPPLIES:

• Halloween-themed pencils (or any pencils)
• Multi-color pom poms (various sizes)
• Craft glue
• Googly eyes (assorted sizes)

DIRECTIONS:

1. You can choose to remove the eraser from the Halloween pencils or leave them on. It’s entirely up to you!
2. Apply a generous amount of glue to the top of the pencil. Attach 1-4 pom poms to the top, pressing down on each pom pom to ensure a strong bond.
3. Glue googly eyes onto the pom poms. Again, hold the googly eyes against the pom poms after applying glue to help them adhere properly.

5. Allow the glue to dry completely before using the monster pencils.

I adore making tissue paper pom-poms for parties and holidays. They’re incredibly versatile and easy to create! To save time, you can also purchase pre-made tissue paper pom-poms.

SUPPLIES:

• Black and white tissue paper pom-poms (various sizes)
• Foam wreath form
• Craft glue
• Googly eyes (assorted sizes)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Attach the tissue paper pom-poms to the foam wreath form using glue, tape, or tacks. I like to alternate colors, but you can also create a pattern with half white and half black pom-poms. For a more colorful wreath, add orange or purple tissue paper pom-poms.
2. Using craft glue, gently glue googly eyes to each pom-pom. I added two eyes to each of the black tissue paper pom-poms, but you can add as many or as few as you like!
3. Allow the glue to dry completely before hanging the wreath as a door decoration.

These Halloween crafts were incredibly fun to put together, and I must admit that part of the enjoyment came from how quickly each one could be made!
