Our journey to San Sebastian involved a flight into the nearby city of Bilbao, followed by a comfortable bus ride. One of the primary factors that drew us to the Abba Hotel was its unparalleled proximity to the city’s main bus station. Just a short 5-minute walk from the station, the hotel proved to be incredibly convenient, eliminating any stress or hassle upon arrival with luggage. This accessibility is a huge plus for travelers arriving by public transport, making for a smooth and effortless check-in process.

From the moment we stepped into the elegant lobby, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and efficiency. The concierge staff immediately greeted us, providing a swift and seamless check-in experience. The centerpiece is a sumptuous king-sized bed, adorned with high-quality linens and plush pillows, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a day of exploration. Complementing the sleeping area is a comfortable small seating arrangement, perfect for relaxing with a book or enjoying a morning coffee. What truly sets these rooms apart are the expansive windows that flood the space with an abundance of natural light, offering delightful views of the city or river, depending on the room’s orientation.

The room’s decor exuded an understated elegance, blending modern sophistication with classic comforts. A striking, oversized headboard served as a focal point, adding a touch of grandeur, while the luxurious wall coverings contributed to the sophisticated ambiance. Attention to detail was evident throughout, with delightful touches designed to enhance the guest experience. This luxurious space featured a good-sized walk-in shower with excellent water pressure – a small but significant detail that greatly enhances comfort. While the Deluxe rooms represent the upper echelon of offerings at Hotel Abba San Sebastian, the pricing remained remarkably competitive, especially when compared to similar caliber accommodations in other popular European cities. We secured our Deluxe Corner room for a 5-night stay in late May at an approximate rate of $270 per night. Considering the hotel’s 4-star rating, its prime location, and the exceptional comfort and amenities provided, we considered this an outstanding value. It’s a testament to the Abba San Sebastian’s commitment to offering affordable luxury without compromising on quality.

Note: For just a slight increase in price per night, a Deluxe room with a private balcony offers an added layer of charm and fresh air. However, these sought-after rooms tend to be booked quickly, so we recommend reserving well in advance if a balcony is a priority for your stay.
