✅ Step-by-step instructions

Detailed instructions for these simple ghost cookies recipe are in the full printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. Here's a visual step-by-step guide with photos to help you make these simple Nutter Butter Halloween Ghost Cookies!

  1. Start by slicing about 1/3 off the end of each Nutter Butter cookie. See the pic above of the sliced cookies. So it will look like ghosts!

2. Discard the chopped-off cookie pieces by devouring them. No sense wasting good cookies!

Melt white chocolate either on the stovetop over a double boiler. Or, in the microwave. We prefer to melt chocolate for small treats like this in the microwave. Add the white chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl and start by microwaving at 30 seconds. Mix together, then continue to melt in 30 second increments and mix until chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

3. Dip each cookie into the melted chocolate. Place the coated cookie onto parchment paper or wax paper to cool. You can also place on a wire rack over a cookie sheet to catch the excess drip of melted white candy coating.

4. Place two mini chocolate chips for eyes, or three mini chocolate chips for eyes and a ghost mouth, on each cookie.
