The Ultimate Guide to Chicken Wing Dipping Sauces for Game Day
Football season isn’t just about the game; it’s a celebration of camaraderie, spirited cheering, and, most importantly, delicious food! As the season reaches its climax, it’s time to plan the perfect spread for the Big Game. And what’s a Big Game party without chicken wings? Let’s be honest, it’s simply not a party. But chicken wings without delectable dipping sauces? That’s like an incomplete pass – utterly disappointing.
Whether you’re hosting a crowd of forty or keeping it intimate with a group of four, chicken wings are a non-negotiable game day staple. To help you score big with your guests, I’ve curated a collection of winning dipping sauces that will elevate your wing experience to legendary status.

Hot Wings on the Go: Convenience without Compromise
While I cherish crafting chicken wing recipes from scratch, the reality is that life often throws curveballs, leaving us short on time. That’s where the convenience of your local deli comes into play. Did you know that Tyson has partnered with major retailers like Walmart to offer freshly cooked chicken wings in their deli section? All you have to do is swing by and grab as many or as few as you need!

The options are plentiful! Indulge in General Tso’s boneless chicken wings, classic bone-in wings, fiery Buffalo boneless wings, or the ever-popular “pick 3” bucket. To ensure your desired flavor is freshly prepared upon your arrival, consider calling ahead to the deli. It’s like having your own personal wing genie!
On my recent deli run, I opted for General Tso’s boneless wings and a pound of traditional bone-in wings. Recognizing the distinct flavor profiles of each, I decided to create complementary dipping sauces. My husband particularly favored the General Tso’s boneless chicken wings, which possess a delightful kick. To balance the heat, I envisioned an Asian-inspired dipping sauce with tangy notes.

Dairy-Free, Sugar-Free Dipping Sauces: Flavor without the Fuss
In line with my current health journey, both of these dipping sauces are meticulously crafted to be dairy-free and sugar-free. However, if you don’t have any dietary restrictions, feel free to substitute my ingredients with regular sugar and dairy counterparts.
Lime Cilantro Soy Dipping Sauce: A Burst of Freshness

Let me preface this by declaring my unwavering love for cilantro! As evident in the photos, I’ve incorporated a generous amount into this dipping sauce. If you share my passion for this herb, you’ll want to replicate the same quantity. The sight of those lush green leaves dancing atop the sauce simply fills me with joy.
However, if you’re not a devoted cilantro fan, feel free to adjust the amount accordingly. Start with 1/2 teaspoon and adjust to your preference.
I highly recommend seeking out a sugar-free, gluten-free soy sauce, such as San-J Organic Gluten Free Tamari. Alternatively, you can use any soy sauce readily available in your pantry.
