Kitchen tools and equipment
For this recipe, you simply need a few basic kitchen tools:
Baking sheet – Use a baking sheet lined with either wax paper or parchment paper to put the truffles on to set. You could also line plates with wax paper or parchment paper instead, if you don't have room in your fridge for a quarter or half baking sheet.
Cookie scoop – A cookie scoop helps you create truffles that are the same size. You could also simply use a tablespoon to scoop out the dough.
Microwaveable bowl – You'll need a microwave-safe bowl to melt the white chocolate and coconut oil together.
Forks – Use two forks to dip the cookie dough balls into the melted white chocolate.
3-ingredient truffles
You truly only need three ingredients to make these truffles. Then there are some optional additional fun decorative ingredients you can add if you wish!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – You can make your own edible cookie dough at home. We have a recipe for Irresistible Edible Cookie Dough Bites in the cookbook, The Super Simple Teen Baking Cookbook, on page 32. Or, you could buy a package of Pillsbury's Edible Cookie Dough.
White chocolate – You'll need either a white chocolate baking bar, chopped up, or white chocolate melting wafers. We use these white chocolate melting wafers because they taste wonderful and melt beautifully for a smooth finish.
We do NOT recommend using white chocolate chips, since those contain ingredients that are meant to help the chips keep their shape. So those don't melt as smoothly. That said, you can use white chocolate chips if that's what you have. You might simply need to whisk or mix them more vigorously to make the chocolate smooth.
Coconut oil – A little bit of coconut oil helps the white chocolate coating set beautifully.
OPTIONAL: decorative sprinkles or melting chocolate wafers in another color – description of what it is/how it is used with affiliate link where possible
