Accanto Restaurant Sign: A popular spot for weekend brunch in Southeast Portland.

In a city famous for brunch spots with long lines, Accanto stands out by offering both delicious weekend brunch options *and* reservations. Yes, you read that right: reservations! This alone makes Accanto a winner.

But it doesn’t stop there. Accanto truly won me over with their mouthwatering food and exceptional service. A big thank you to the Accanto team!

Accanto Weekend Brunch: A Portland Delight

Mother-Daughter Brunch at Accanto Restaurant: Quality time and delicious food.

My husband and I always try to make time for individual outings with our kids. This past summer, my daughter and I managed to sneak away for a few hours of much-needed mother-daughter time. Since she shares my love for brunch, we booked a reservation at Accanto for their weekend brunch service.

Accanto Restaurant Table Setting: Ready for a delicious brunch in Portland.

Accanto’s brunch menu is reasonably priced, with most entrees ranging from $10 to $15. Portions are generous, but you’ll likely want to order at least one of their tempting starters to share while you enjoy your coffee or hot chocolate. The fritto misto ($10) looked especially appealing, and I plan to try it on my next visit. We did order a side of house bacon ($5, pictured above), which was incredibly delicious and cooked to absolute bacon perfection.

Brunch Starters: A Tempting Beginning

Start your Accanto brunch experience with a delectable array of appetizers and sharing plates.

The starters at Accanto are designed to tantalize your taste buds and get you excited for the main event. From savory to sweet, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Consider ordering a few to share with your table, allowing you to sample a variety of flavors and textures. These smaller plates are perfect for pairing with your favorite brunch beverage, whether it’s a classic mimosa or a freshly brewed coffee.

Accanto’s commitment to fresh, local ingredients shines through in their starter offerings, making each bite a delightful experience.

Accanto Restaurant Ricotta Donuts: A sweet and delightful brunch starter in Portland.

For our starter, we opted for what seemed like the obvious choice for both of us: the Ricotta Donuts ($6). These bite-sized clouds of bliss are lightly dusted with powdered sugar and served with a sweet and tangy lemon curd dipping sauce. We both absolutely loved them!

Main Dishes: Hearty and Delicious Brunch Fare

Accanto’s brunch menu features a selection of main dishes designed to satisfy any appetite. Whether you’re craving something sweet, savory, or a little bit of both, you’re sure to find a dish that hits the spot.

From classic brunch staples to innovative Italian-inspired creations, Accanto’s chefs put their heart and soul into every plate. They use only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients to ensure that each dish is bursting with flavor.

The portions are generous, so come hungry! And don’t be afraid to try something new – Accanto’s brunch menu is full of exciting and unexpected flavor combinations.

Whether you’re a seasoned brunch aficionado or a first-time diner, you’re sure to be impressed by the quality and variety of Accanto’s main dish offerings.

Accanto Restaurant French Toast: A delicious sweet option for brunch in Portland.

My daughter chose the French Toast ($10). Accanto’s French Toast is made with thick, rich brioche bread soaked in orange honey mascarpone, topped with seasonal fresh fruits and nuts, and served with a side of maple syrup. The sweetness of the orange honey mascarpone and the fresh fruits complemented the savory toast beautifully. I also appreciated that it was served in a cast iron pan, which added to the rustic charm.

Accanto Restaurant Cappellini Carbonara: A savory and satisfying brunch option in Portland.

I decided to go with a richer, more lunch-like option from the brunch menu: the Cappellini Carbonara ($14). This gorgeous pasta dish consisted of guanciale (an Italian cured meat, similar to salami), chili flakes, pecorino cheese, and egg yolk. It’s worth noting that the specific ingredients may vary depending on the season and availability. For example, the dish pictured above contains cauliflower, but the current carbonara dish may not. The portion size was perfect for one person if you’re quite hungry; I enjoyed about half of it at Accanto and took the rest home for leftovers.

Brunch Cocktails: Elevate Your Brunch Experience

No brunch is complete without a delicious cocktail! Accanto offers a variety of brunch cocktails to complement your meal and enhance your dining experience.

From classic mimosas to creative concoctions, there’s a cocktail to suit every taste. Accanto’s bartenders use only the freshest ingredients and expertly crafted recipes to create drinks that are both refreshing and flavorful.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a weekend brunch with friends, a well-made cocktail is the perfect way to add a touch of festivity to your meal.

Ask your server for recommendations or try one of Accanto’s signature brunch cocktails for a truly memorable experience.

If I had been with my usual brunch companions instead of my daughter, I would have definitely ordered one of Accanto’s fantastic cocktails. I recommend trying the Bourbon Buzz ($8) – made with Bulleit bourbon, Water Ave. coffee syrup, iced coffee, whole milk, and cinnamon. They also serve a traditional Mimosa ($7) and a Belmont Bloody ($8), along with other tempting brunch cocktails.

The Ambiance: A Bright and Welcoming Space

Accanto provides a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.

The restaurant’s interior is carefully designed to create a comfortable and stylish setting. From the lighting to the furniture, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to enhance the dining experience.

Whether you’re dining solo or with a group, you’ll feel right at home in Accanto’s welcoming space. The friendly staff and attentive service add to the overall ambiance, making it a truly enjoyable place to spend your time.

From romantic date nights to casual gatherings with friends, Accanto is the perfect setting for any occasion.

Accanto Restaurant Interior: A bright and inviting space for brunch and dinner in Portland.

Accanto is an Italian bar and *cucina* that started as the more casual sister restaurant to Genoa, a long-standing fine dining establishment in Portland (sadly, Genoa is no longer open – I loved it!). The restaurant occupies the corner of Southeast Belmont Street and 28th Avenue, featuring a large L-shaped bar, outdoor seating during the warmer months, and expansive floor-to-almost-ceiling windows. Accanto is a bright and airy space that’s ideal for happy hour gatherings with friends, romantic date nights, and, since recently, weekend brunch.

Accanto Restaurant Wall Decor: Adding to the bright and modern ambiance.

I love the cafe-like energy of Accanto’s weekend brunch service. The restaurant is filled with happy conversations and features a completely open kitchen. If you’re dining alone or meeting a friend, you can grab a seat at the bar and watch the chefs work their culinary magic.

Accanto Restaurant Open Kitchen: Watch the chefs at work while you enjoy your meal.

Accanto Restaurant Matchboxes: A unique and nostalgic touch.

Bonus note: I adore Accanto’s matchboxes. Remember when smoking was more common and restaurants offered their own custom matchboxes? While thankfully most people no longer smoke (except perhaps in Vegas… I always forget until I step out of the Lyft there…), I still *love* collecting restaurant matches. I’ve accumulated a small collection over the years from various places: Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Canada, Hawaii, and all over the US. If you ever find yourself in a restaurant that still offers these, please grab a couple for me and send them my way! I would be eternally grateful!

Thank you to Accanto for generously providing a complimentary meal for us to experience their brunch menu. As always, all opinions and photos are entirely my own. You know the drill, dear readers: I only share experiences that I genuinely enjoy and believe you will enjoy too!
