Recently, we enjoyed a memorable 10-day stay in the enchanting Loire Valley, beautifully framed by two nights in Paris. To fully immerse ourselves in the city’s diverse offerings, we chose to stay at different hotels at the beginning and end of our trip. This allowed us to experience various parts of Paris and compare these exceptional establishments.
Both hotels boasted 5-star ratings and impressed us immensely. From their unparalleled levels of service to their stunning rooms, each offered a unique and memorable experience. Let’s delve into why these hotels deserve a spot on your list for your next Parisian adventure.
Hotel Elysia: A Parisian Oasis of Luxury
Upon our arrival in Paris, we eagerly checked into the Hotel Elysia. Nestled just steps away from the iconic Champs-Élysées in the glamorous 8th Arrondissement, the Hotel Elysia offers nearly 40 exquisitely designed rooms and suites. These accommodations provide a haven of Parisian luxury amidst the vibrant energy of the city center.
From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were enveloped in 5-star service. The hotel staff was remarkably attentive and gracious, ensuring every need was met with a warm smile. The concierge thoughtfully inquired about our dinner plans, offering insightful suggestions for nearby restaurants to enhance our evening.
Despite arriving a few hours before the official check-in time, we were promptly escorted to our spacious room without any delay, a testament to the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Executive Room: A Sanctuary of Comfort and Style
We opted for an executive room, offering a generous 325 square feet of space. The room featured a luxurious king-sized bed, a comfortable seating area, and expansive windows that opened onto a serene inner courtyard.
The room’s elegant decor, adorned with plush furniture and grand drapery, created a luxurious and cozy ambiance. A delightful touch was the small gift bag of macarons placed at the foot of the bed, a thoughtful and delicious welcome.
The luxury extended to the room’s expansive bathroom, meticulously paneled with marble walls. It featured a spacious shower, a full-size tub, and matching bathrobes, ensuring a pampering experience.
The following morning, with an early start planned, we decided to indulge in breakfast via room service. The impressive Continental Breakfast included a delectable assortment of crepes, a selection of breads and croissants, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, coffee, and orange juice.
The portion was more than sufficient for two people and offered excellent value at just €35 (approximately $38).

The Signature suite, the hotel’s largest, spans nearly 650 square feet and offers stunning views of the Champs-Élysées. This opulent space features an enormous living area connected to a romantic bedroom with a faux fireplace. Adjacent to the bedroom is a spa-like bathroom, adorned with gold finishes, completing the regal experience.
Le Bayadère Restaurant: A Culinary Journey
The Elysia is also home to an award-winning restaurant, Le Bayadère, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menus showcase classic French dishes, such as foie gras and duck filet, prepared with culinary expertise.

Hotel Alfred Sommier: A Grand Parisian Residence
On our final day in Paris, we checked into the grand Hotel Alfred Sommier, situated on Rue de l’Arcade, a tranquil side street just a short walk from the Place de la Concorde.
While still located in the 8th arrondissement, this hotel offered a more central location, allowing us to easily walk to many renowned attractions, including the Place de la Madeleine (known for its impressive Greek-style temple), the Place de la Concorde, and the iconic Louvre Museum.
After a few hours of sightseeing, we eagerly returned to our new hotel to experience its exceptional amenities.
With nearly 100 rooms and suites, the Alfred Sommier is a large and impressive hotel. One of the first captivating sights upon entering through the portico entrance is the enormous and elegantly designed courtyard.
We could have easily spent hours in this serene space, savoring a few glasses of wine, but our time was limited to just one day. Therefore, we proceeded to our room, which turned out to be a magnificent suite.
Suite at Hotel Alfred Sommier: An Oasis of Elegance
Our suite was simply breathtaking, featuring a large queen-size bed, a grand faux marble fireplace, a separate seating area with a comfortable couch and two chairs, and a balcony complete with a small table.
Spanning approximately 525 square feet, the suite felt spacious, airy, inviting, and above all, luxurious.
The suite also featured separate shower and toilet areas, as well as a closet and mini bar discreetly tucked away in an enclosure behind the bed.
This truly embodied the Parisian luxury experience, and we wished we could have extended our stay. However, with an early flight scheduled for the next day, we made the most of our time by enjoying a delightful morning espresso on the balcony before our departure.

The restaurant is open for breakfast on weekdays from 7 am to 10:30 am, and on weekends from 7:30 am to 10:30 am.
Lunch and dinner are served from 12 pm to 6 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm Thursday through Saturday.
The Bar
Located behind the main dining room, The Bar opens onto the serene garden area. This cozy setting features a few small tables, ideal for a quick drink before dinner or a nightcap after a long day of exploration.
