Many of Whistler’s best restaurants are conveniently located in the heart of Whistler Village.
Whistler Village is the vibrant epicenter of the world-renowned Whistler Blackcomb resort. Situated approximately 121 kilometers (75 miles) north of Vancouver, Whistler Village sits at an elevation of 670 meters (2,200 feet) and spans approximately 1.6 square kilometers (0.6 square miles). This pedestrian-friendly village offers a wide array of shops, accommodations, and, of course, exceptional dining options.
But Whistler Village is more than just a ski town; it’s a year-round destination. During the summer months, it transforms into a hub for hiking, mountain biking, and simply relaxing while breathing in the crisp mountain air. It’s the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts and foodies alike to come together and enjoy the best of both worlds.
Raven Room: Whistler’s Premier Cocktail and Culinary Destination
The Raven Room, a locally owned and operated gem nestled in the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre, is a true Whistler favorite. While known as Whistler’s premier cocktail bar, don’t underestimate the exceptional food menu! The Raven Room seamlessly blends innovative mixology with a commitment to culinary excellence.
Here, the quality of the food is on par with the creative concoctions their talented mixologists are crafting at the bar. The Raven Room focuses on utilizing the finest locally sourced ingredients, including fresh seafood and vegetables from around the Pacific Northwest. Each dish I sampled was beautifully presented, thoughtfully composed, and utterly delicious.
Cocktails to Try: Aphrodisia, Hot Girl Summer, and a Spicy Margarita. While the Spicy Margarita isn’t on the menu, be sure to ask for it if you enjoy a cocktail with a kick. Three of us in my group, all seasoned cocktail enthusiasts, agreed that it was the best spicy margarita we’ve ever had!
Dishes to Try: I particularly enjoyed the Whistler Grown Heirloom Tomatoes, BC Albacore Tuna Tataki, Squamish Grown Sautéed Mushrooms, Crispy Teriyaki Cauliflower, and the Spicy Thai Fried Chicken.
My dining companions, who are not dairy-free, raved about the Squamish Harvested Mushroom Risotto.

Bar Oso: A Taste of Spain in the Heart of Whistler
Stepping onto the tiled floor and into the seductively lit dining room, anchored by a commanding central bar, feels like being transported to a swanky Spanish neighborhood gem.
Bar Oso has been recently renovated and re-opened, quickly becoming one of the hottest spots in Whistler Village. This is the place to go for an extraordinary dining experience, with impressive food, tasty craft cocktails, and exceptional service.
Here, you’ll discover Spanish-influenced small plates, tapas, and house-made charcuterie. Led by Chef Jorge Muñoz Santos, a native of Madrid, the kitchen consistently delivers impressive plate after impressive plate. I think we sampled almost the entire menu, and nearly every dish was expertly executed.
Cocktails to Try: Firecracker Margarita, Oso Sour
Dishes to Try: Of all the charcuterie board offerings, opt for the Fresh Charcuterie Board. With house-made duck liver parfait, pheasant pate, rabbit rillette, and smoked ham hock terrine, this is truly a foodie’s paradise on a plate. I also highly recommend the Wagyu Beef Cheek (my personal favorite!), Beef Tartare, Octopus “Jorge” Style, Duck Liver Paté Montaditos, and the Local Roasted Beets.
Bar Oso is the sister restaurant to the Italian fine dining establishment Araxi Restaurant & Oyster Bar, which also receives rave reviews.

Kid-Friendly? The swanky, date-night vibe is best suited for an adults-only night out. Older kids might enjoy the tapas menu for an early dinner, but it’s definitely recommended to leave babies, toddlers, and younger children with a sitter.

Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub: A Taste of Ireland in Whistler
Fresh off a recent trip to Ireland, a visit to Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub was a welcome stop on my Whistler journey. Located at the base of Whistler in the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside, this popular local hotspot comes alive with live music twice daily (seasonal) and a legendary Happy Hour.
Dishes to Try: When at an Irish pub, you simply must try the fish and chips. It’s practically the law! The Fish and Chips at Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub reminded me of the delicious fish and chips I enjoyed just a few months ago in Dingle, Ireland. A huge filet of fish, perfectly battered and fried. I upgraded my fries to the rosemary garlic fries with bacon chive mayo because, of course, I did. And you should too! They’re amazing.
The Fish Tacos, Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, and BLT were all enjoyed by my dining companions.

Mekong Fine Thai Cuisine Restaurant: An Authentic Taste of Thailand
Shortly after being seated, the GM of Mekong Fine Thai Cuisine informed me that she and the chef had traveled to Bangkok to research the menu. I was already excited about the dinner that awaited.
Having traveled to Thailand for the first time last fall, I know that while many Thai restaurants exist, many serve dishes with softened edges and tamed flavors to suit Western palates.
But at Mekong, each dish transported me back to Thailand. Chef Angus An, of famed Maenam restaurant in Vancouver, created the menu, and the kitchen adeptly sends out dishes with authentic flavors using fresh, local produce sourced from local farmers.
It was like experiencing my dream dinner in a modern, stunningly designed, vibrant, and lively atmosphere.
Cocktails to Try: Siam Sapphire. They also have a nice selection of BC wines to try.
Dishes to Try: Chicken Pomelo Salad, Tom Kha Mussels, Gaeng Keow Wan Beef (Beef with Green Curry), Pad See Ew Beef, Ka Na Moo Krop (pork belly with Chinese broccoli), Pad Bu Sen Chan (crab pad Thai), and Pla Sam Rot Seabass.

Kid-Friendly? I would consider bringing my own children here for an early dinner, but the vibe is more suited for date nights, after-work celebrations, and evenings out with friends.

Black’s Pub: A Whistler Village Staple
Black’s Pub, one of the several locations within the Gibbons restaurant group, is truly located in the heart of Whistler Village. Situated right at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, it’s a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The pub boasts two levels of patio seating, perfect for watching the bustling Whistler life while sipping on a refreshing beverage and refueling after a day on the mountain.
Cocktail to Try: When a restaurant offers a spritz menu, I am all in! At the recommendation of our kind server, I tried the Cucumber Limoncello Spritz. This super refreshing and colorful cocktail features the coolness of cucumbers, the bright sweetness of limoncello, topped with sparkling soda, a hint of mint, and an Empress gin float.
Food to Try: Black’s Pub offers classic dishes on a small but mighty traditional pub menu. Their Calamari is one of the best I’ve eaten in a while, perfectly battered and deep-fried with fresh herbs. Also, be sure to check out the Cauliflower Bites, Burgers, and Pepperoni Pizza.

- Of all the restaurants I dined at, Mekong Fine Thai Cuisine had the most vegan-friendly menu, with a separate vegetarian menu available.
