Chef Matthew Sigler’s menu struck a perfect balance, respecting Italian culinary traditions while incorporating subtle, playful adaptations. The result was food that was undeniably delicious without feeling overly contrived or pretentious.

The Apertivo menu featured a selection of beautifully crafted cocktails, each priced at a flat $8. These weren’t just drinks; they were works of art, both visually appealing and incredibly flavorful.

Arrossire: A delightful blend of cappelletti, punt e mes, benedictine, and soda.

Church: A refreshing mix of gin, aperol, lemon, and cocci americano.

In addition to the fantastic cocktails, Chef Sigler prepared an array of small plates perfect for sharing (or not!). These dishes were designed to be enjoyed as a light snack or combined to create a full meal.

The salads were generously portioned and could be enjoyed as a light meal or a starter. For those seeking a heartier option, Renata offered a range of main dishes, including rib eye, grilled swordfish, and wood-fired octopus.

However, the pasta dishes were the true stars of the show. Renata’s pasta was consistently cooked to perfection and paired with flavorful, well-balanced sauces.

Each visit to Renata was marked by warm welcomes, friendly service, and impeccable timing. It was a place worth revisiting, especially during Apertivo hours on the patio, soaking up the Pacific Northwest sunshine.

Renata also provided a small parking lot, a valuable asset in the bustling Portland area. Street parking was generally available within a few blocks, regardless of the time of night.
