Lexus RC 350 F Sport: A Stylish Coupe with a Sporty Edge

The 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport: An Enthusiastic Review

I’ll admit, sports cars never really clicked with me before, nor did the allure of a red vehicle. What made them so special? That was until I had the privilege of test driving the 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport, a model boasting a vibrant Infrared exterior. It only took a few minutes of navigating my neighborhood streets to completely understand the fascination.

I absolutely adore this car.

The 2015 Lexus RC 350 F Sport isn’t just any car; it’s a supercharged driving experience that instantly elevates you to the realm of cool. I’ve never encountered a vehicle that garnered so much attention and sparked conversations with complete strangers. Its combination of style, performance, and luxury is simply captivating.

Perhaps you’re navigating a mid-life transition, celebrating an empty nest, or a young entrepreneur enjoying early success? This car could be your perfect match. Its sporty design and exhilarating performance makes it a standout choice for those who want to experience more from their daily drive. The RC 350 F Sport communicates a sense of achievement and personal reward.

With a starting price of $42,790 for the base RC 350 model and $47,875 for the enhanced RC 350 F Sport package, this Lexus offers a superbly sculpted, sleek, and exceptionally fast driving experience. The F Sport package builds upon the standard RC 350 with numerous performance and styling upgrades, creating a truly unique and engaging driving encounter.

Exterior Design and Performance Capabilities

The Lexus RC 350 F Sport is equipped with an 8-speed transmission, adaptive variable suspension, and an all-wheel-drive system that offers remarkable traction. This sophisticated combination allows for both exhilarating performance and confident handling in a variety of driving conditions. The Lexus Dynamic Handling system further enhances agility and responsiveness, making every drive a pleasure.

Driving this car feels like gliding, especially with how smoothly the car handles itself through the steepest hills, narrow winding curves, and in demanding city traffic. The car performed like nothing I had ever experienced, and I was blown away by its driving capacity, making it one of my favorite test drives to date. The steering felt precise, the acceleration was effortless, and the overall experience was truly engaging.

The F Sport package also includes unique styling elements, such as a distinctive mesh grille, sporty front and rear bumpers, and exclusive alloy wheel designs, which further enhance its visual appeal. The RC 350 F Sport truly stands out from the crowd and makes a bold statement wherever it goes.

Luxurious and Driver-Focused Interior

The interior of the RC 350 F Sport is meticulously crafted to provide both comfort and luxury, all while enhancing the driving experience. Every detail is carefully considered, from the materials used to the ergonomic design of the controls. The result is a cabin that is both inviting and functional, creating an ideal environment for both driver and passengers.

The seats feature a unique foam-injected construction that allows them to conform precisely to your body, offering exceptional comfort and support. The front sport seats are designed to position the driver’s hip point closer to the center of the vehicle, which provides a more direct feel for the road and enhances the overall driving experience. Every feature in this car is positioned with purpose.

Initially, I was concerned that the car might be too compact to comfortably accommodate my family of four. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that we all fit with relative ease. The rear seats offer ample knee room, which is a welcome surprise considering the car’s sleek and sporty profile. This added space makes longer trips more comfortable for rear passengers.

The car features both heated and ventilated seats, a feature that I particularly appreciate, along with a heated steering wheel. I especially miss the heated steering wheel. The ergonomic design further enhances comfort and reduces fatigue during long drives. The controls are intuitively placed and easy to reach, allowing the driver to focus on the road ahead. These factors add to the appeal of the car, especially in colder climates.

I found almost everything about this vehicle to be exceptional, save for one minor detail. Like many Lexus vehicles, the advanced digital technology throughout the dashboard is juxtaposed with what my husband jokingly refers to as an “old-timey” analog clock in the center of the dash. This was the only element that slightly bothered me; I am so accustomed to relying on digital time displays. While the analog clock may appeal to some, I personally found it to be a somewhat anachronistic design choice.

The dashboard and center console are thoughtfully designed with the driver in mind. There’s a conveniently located, generously sized space above the middle vents (and the aforementioned analog clock) that is perfect for setting down papers or holding your phone while it’s charging. I frequently charge my phone in the car, given my constantly on-the-go lifestyle. I appreciate the streamlined design of the buttons, and there’s ample storage space available in both the center console and glove compartment.

A Day in the Life: Experiencing the Lexus RC 350 F Sport

When I evaluate vehicles, I prefer to test them under conditions that best reflect the car’s intended purpose. For instance, I often take larger vehicles on extended road trips to assess their long-haul comfort, sound system capabilities, storage capacity, and overall suitability for extended journeys. As it happened, I had the Lexus during a relatively quiet week, filled with writing deadlines but devoid of major trips or events – just the usual blend of work and everyday mom duties.

So, I drove the Lexus RC 350 F Sport extensively throughout Southeast and Downtown Portland, navigating between meetings and various engagements.

This is where I experienced my first random encounter with a stranger, who exclaimed, “Is that your car? That’s a nice car!” I also randomly shouted hello to a friend at a downtown stoplight while he was crossing the street (Ben, if you’re reading this, you know by now: that was not my car). The car was ideal for navigating the downtown area, gracefully maneuvering around aggressive cyclists, slow-moving pedestrians preoccupied with their phones, and squeezing between large buses on narrow streets. Its turning radius is exceptional, and I was able to quickly enter and exit parking spaces, maneuver through tight parking garages, and start and stop smoothly and swiftly.

I also took this sporty vehicle on adventures it probably hadn’t experienced before, but truly, deeply needed. I mean, how often does a Lexus RC 350 F Sport get the opportunity to grace the parking lot of a fancy grocery store and transport a load of groceries, not just once, but three times in a single week?

And I imagine the car was absolutely thrilled when I took it for a spin to the oh-so-exotic Target (Tar-jay, excuse me) parking lot for some quality time amidst a sea of minivans and massive SUVs.

Finally, the Lexus RC 350 F Sport had the immense pleasure of zipping around school and park parking lots at a blazing 20 MPH, shuttling to and from numerous softball practices and games.

Oh, and take a look at the trunk space: it’s large enough to accommodate three large folding stadium chairs, my daughter’s bat bag, and a substantial amount of groceries all at the same time. Also: proof that I insisted she remove her muddy cleats and change shoes before getting back into the car.

Yes, I am confident that these suburban family escapades are precisely the sort of upscale outings that this sleek and sexy car was destined for.

Or… perhaps not. But, hey: these are my exciting daily adventures, and they were made all the more thrilling thanks to the Lexus RC 350 F Sport. And let’s be honest: these experiences are more representative of the everyday adventures that most people undertake with their vehicles, right? (If your life is ten times more exciting than mine, as I suspect it is, please just smile and nod).

If I had the disposable income, I would absolutely purchase this sporty machine. I loved it immensely! I’m not particularly fond of many Lexus models, but the RC 350 F Sport is undoubtedly one of the best cars I’ve had the pleasure of driving. If you’re in the market for a smaller car and have the funds available, definitely consider the Lexus RC 350 F Sport.
