Secondly, charcuterie cones are incredibly versatile and can be easily customized to accommodate a wide range of dietary needs and preferences. Whether you have vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan guests, you can easily create tailored charcuterie cones by simply substituting or omitting certain ingredients. Step-by-step process of creating charcuterie cones.
  1. Choose Your Cone: The first step is selecting the right type of cone. While waffle cones and tortilla cones are viable options, paper cones offer a versatile and visually appealing choice. You can find them online, at restaurant supply stores, or in the party section of most big box stores. Begin by placing a layer of crackers and/or nuts at the bottom of each cone to create a base and prevent smaller items from falling through.
  2. Skewer Savory Delights: Using food picks, cocktail picks, or mini bamboo skewers is an excellent way to keep similar food items together, making the appetizer easier to eat and adding a touch of elegance. Thread small pieces of cured meats, cheeses, and olives onto skewers to create visually appealing and easy-to-handle components.
  3. Skewer Sweet Treats: Similarly, skewer your fruit to create sweet components that are easy to manage and enjoy. Combine berries, grapes, or melon pieces on skewers to create a colorful and refreshing element.

  1. Fill the Cone with Flair: Now comes the fun part – assembling your charcuterie cones! Place 2-4 small skewers of savory and sweet items into each cone. Then, fill in the gaps with additional fruits, nuts, cheeses, and sweets, layering ingredients to create a visually appealing and texturally diverse cone. Be sure to leave some space at the top of the cone so that guests can easily pick it up and eat it without the contents spilling out.
  2. Add a Garnish for the Final Touch: To give your charcuterie cones a polished and professional look, add a few garnishes to the top of each cone. Fresh herbs, such as a sprig of rosemary, or edible flowers can add a touch of elegance and visual flair. A drizzle of honey or a small dollop of pesto can also enhance the flavors and create an enticing presentation.

  • 10 food-safe paper cones

Ingredients

  • 20 thin breadstick crackers
  • 1 sleeve of round crackers
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 3 ounces salami slices (about 20 individual)
  • 1 package (8-ounce) block of Colby, cheddar, or mix of cheeses
  • 10 green olives
  • 10 rosemary sprigs
  • 1 cup nuts (cashews, almonds, or walnuts)
  • 10 pieces of chocolate

Instructions

  4. Fill in the cones with some nuts, and a piece of chocolate or several small chocolates.
