The lively buzz of conversations fills the air as diners indulge in their meals, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or simply enjoying a night out, Allora provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable culinary experience.
Having dined at Allora in the past, I was eager to return and experience their updated menu. My most recent visit was a special occasion – our 21st wedding anniversary. It was the perfect opportunity to revisit a favorite restaurant and create new memories with my family. Here’s a glimpse into the delightful dishes we savored on this particular evening.
Start with Tempting Appetizers
Allora’s appetizer menu is brimming with delectable options, so tempting that you could easily create a satisfying meal simply by ordering a selection of these starters. However, doing so would mean missing out on their signature pastas and decadent desserts, a culinary experience you certainly wouldn’t want to forgo!
For a mere $3 for a half order or $6 for a full order, you can indulge in their homemade focaccia bread, served with fragrant olive oil. The bread is infused with a touch of red pepper flakes, adding a subtle kick to each bite. Its fluffy texture and fresh taste make it an irresistible starter.

A must-try appetizer is the polenta fries ($14), served with a spicy roasted garlic aioli. These fries are crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and bursting with flavor. The aioli adds a delightful zing that perfectly complements the richness of the polenta.

Our family was divided on their opinions of the calamari fritti ($18). While I thoroughly enjoyed the dish, finding the calamari tender and flavorful, I did feel that the price was a bit steep. The breading was light and crispy, and the seasoning was spot-on. However, our daughter, a self-proclaimed calamari aficionado, wasn’t as enthusiastic about this particular rendition. The calamari is also served with the same spicy roasted garlic aioli as the polenta fries.
Indulge in Housemade Pasta Masterpieces
Allora’s main courses primarily consist of pasta dishes, all made fresh in-house daily. This commitment to freshness and quality is evident in every bite.

The Rigatoni Pomodoro e Prosciutto ($20) is an absolute standout. This was, without a doubt, my favorite pasta dish of the evening. The dish features perfectly cooked rigatoni pasta tossed in a luscious tomato cream sauce, generously studded with prosciutto cotto, and dusted with a heavy coating of Parmigiano cheese. While my husband felt that the prosciutto was somewhat haphazardly torn and added to the pasta, the overall flavor was undeniably delicious.

I opted for the Spaghetti al Sugo di Carne ($20), and unfortunately, this was the only dish that left me feeling somewhat disappointed. The pasta had a slightly gummy texture, and the sauce lacked the depth of flavor and seasoning that I had anticipated. It was a rather bland dish overall, not quite up to par with the other pasta offerings. While it wasn’t necessarily bad, it simply didn’t meet the high standards set by the rest of the menu.

Our son, a devoted carbonara enthusiast, ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara ($20). He thoroughly enjoyed Allora’s rendition of this classic dish. After taking a taste myself, I wholeheartedly agreed. The spaghetti in the carbonara was perfectly cooked, with a fresh and vibrant flavor that stood in stark contrast to the spaghetti in my sugo di carne. The creamy sauce and perfectly balanced flavors made it a truly satisfying dish.
A Wine List to Complement Your Meal

Allora’s wine list is thoughtfully curated, featuring a solid selection of both Italian and international wines. As expected, there are several Italian wines to perfectly complement your meal, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the Italian dining experience.
My husband opted for a glass of Chianti, while I chose a glass of Nebbiolo. Both wines were enjoyable and paired well with our chosen dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
