Air Frying Mini Pizzas: Tips and Frequently Asked Questions

Finished Air Fryer Mini Pizza

Air frying tips:

  • Weigh down light toppings: Thin pepperoni slices or other light toppings can sometimes fly around during cooking. To prevent them from getting stuck and burning, sprinkle some shredded cheese on top. As the cheese melts, it will hold the toppings in place.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket: Depending on the size of your air fryer and the crust you choose, you might fit one or two mini pizzas. Avoid overlapping them to prevent sticking.
  • Drizzle olive oil: Just before serving, drizzle a little olive oil over the tops of the mini pizzas for added flavor.

Can I store leftover pizza in the pizza box?

While possible, it’s best NOT to store leftover pizza in the cardboard delivery box. The cardboard and circulating air will dry out the pizza, making it hard and less appealing.

How long can pizza be left out safely?

Like most foods, pizza shouldn’t be left at room temperature for more than two hours. After that, bacteria can start to grow, making it unsafe to eat.

What’s the best way to store leftover pizza?

Let the pizza cool, then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. You can also wrap leftovers in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, but an airtight container is the most effective method.

These mini air fryer pizzas are made with just four pantry staples and can be whipped up for an easy lunch, snack, or dinner in 15 minutes!

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

Adjust servings by 1x2x3x
  • 2 flour street taco tortillas
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 12-14 slices pepperoni
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Spray air fryer baskets with cooking spray, or line each basket with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Spread pizza sauce on each tortilla round.
  • Top each with shredded cheese, then with 6-7 pepperoni slices each, and finally sprinkle some chopped parsley over each mini pizza.
  • Carefully place the pizzas onto the prepared air fryer basket (s). You may need to work in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 5 to 7 minutes, checking on the pizzas halfway through the cook time and rearranging any pepperoni slices as needed.

Notes

Makes two air fryer mini pizzas. You can easily double this recipe to make more; you will just need to work in batches.
A note about air frying pepperoni: I like to sprinkle a little cheese on top of each pepperoni slice to help hold it down while it’s air frying. Sometimes slices that aren’t weighed down by a few shredded cheese pieces may fly around in the air fryer basket.
Storage: store leftovers wrapped in aluminum foil or placed in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
