🍅 Basic Ingredients for a Christmas Salad Wreath

  • Lettuce: A mix of greens like romaine, spinach, and spring mix provides a beautiful and diverse base for the wreath.
  • Tomatoes: Cherry or grape tomatoes add a burst of sweetness and vibrant red color.
  • Cucumbers: Thinly sliced cucumbers offer a refreshing crunch and contribute to the wreath’s overall shape. Peel or don’t peel, depending on your preference.

🥦 Other Optional Ingredients to Add

Enhance your Christmas Wreath Salad with these delicious and colorful vegetable additions:

  • Radishes: Thinly sliced radishes provide a peppery bite and festive red and white hues.
  • Bell Peppers: Diced bell peppers, in red, yellow, and orange, add sweetness and vibrant colors.
  • Snap Peas: Offer a satisfying crunch and a touch of sweetness.
  • Broccoli Florets: Small broccoli florets contribute a healthy dose of vitamins and a pleasing texture.

For added texture and flavor, consider incorporating these ingredients:

  • Nuts: Sliced almonds, cashews, or pecans bring a delightful crunch and nutty flavor. Toast them lightly for an even richer taste.
  • Croutons: Add crispy croutons for a satisfying crunch and a touch of savory flavor. Consider using flavored croutons for an extra dimension of taste.
  • Cheese: For a dairy-free option, try dairy-free feta cheese. Otherwise, crumbled feta or gorgonzola cheese offer a tangy and creamy contrast to the fresh vegetables.

🥛 Ingredients for the Dairy-Free Ranch Dressing

This creamy and flavorful dairy-free ranch dressing perfectly complements the Christmas Wreath Salad. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Mayonnaise: Use your favorite mayonnaise or opt for a vegan mayonnaise for a completely dairy-free dressing.
  • Sour Cream: Dairy-free sour cream adds thickness and tanginess to the dressing. Alternatively, you can use dairy-free plain yogurt.
  • Almond Milk: Almond milk thins the dressing to the desired consistency. You can also use oat milk or coconut milk, keeping in mind that these alternatives may slightly alter the flavor.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: Provides a necessary tang that balances the richness of the mayonnaise and sour cream.
  • Parsley: Freshly chopped parsley brings a bright and herbaceous flavor to the dressing.
  • Garlic: Minced garlic adds a pungent and savory note. Adjust the amount to your preference. Garlic powder can be used as a substitute (about 1/2 teaspoon).
  • Onion Powder: Contributes a subtle onion flavor to enhance the overall taste.
  • Salt and Pepper: Season to taste with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Dried Chives: Adds a subtle onion flavor.
  • Dried Dill: Provides a characteristic dill flavor.
