A Stunning Restoration: Where History Meets Modern Comfort
Originally constructed in 1860, the Kubli Haus underwent a stunning restoration and remodeling project led by the talented husband and wife team, Brian and Kathleen Dunn, in 2021. This remarkable home holds a distinguished place on the National Register of Historic Homes, and the Dunns have masterfully preserved its 160+ year old roots while seamlessly integrating modern amenities for the 21st-century traveler.

The Kubli Haus enjoys a central location in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. It’s conveniently situated just one block from the Britt Festival venue. This means that even without tickets, you can often enjoy the enchanting music from the comfort of the front porch! Furthermore, it’s a mere two-block stroll to charming coffee shops, delectable restaurants, and unique boutiques lining Jacksonville’s main street, California Street.
If you’re indulging in wine tasting throughout the Rogue Valley, the Kubli Haus is within easy walking distance of Awen Winecraft, South Stage Cellars, and Anchor Valley Wine Bar and Tasting Room. Making it the perfect base for your wine country adventures.
Luxurious Rooms and Suites: Your Home Away From Home
The Kubli Haus offers a selection of four beautifully appointed suites within the main house, as well as Studio #5, a larger one-bedroom studio located at the back of the property with its own private entrance. Each space has been carefully curated to provide the ultimate in comfort and relaxation.
Suites 1 through 4 are located within the historic main house, each offering private access and secure key-code doors. The beds are exceptionally luxurious, ranking among the top 10 most comfortable beds I’ve ever experienced during my travels – a testament to their quality! The irresistibly soft and cozy sheets provided a true sanctuary after a long day of exploring the area.
The elegantly designed bathrooms are situated just down a short hallway. My bathroom in Suite 3 featured a large, stylish farmhouse sink, a luxurious free-standing soaking tub, and a generously sized separate walk-in shower. The ambiance truly evokes a sense of being in a private spa.
For added convenience, the hallway includes two separate doors: one leading to a spacious closet for ample storage, and the other providing access to a private toilet area.
Each suite is thoughtfully equipped with a cozy fireplace, a flatscreen TV for entertainment, and a convenient kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a sink, a coffee maker for your morning brew, a microwave for quick snacks, and a mini-refrigerator to keep your beverages and treats chilled.

One of the most endearing aspects of staying at the Kubli Haus is the ability to enjoy complete privacy while also having the opportunity to socialize with other guests and the welcoming owners, Kathleen and Brian. The inviting wrap-around porch, furnished with comfortable seating and tables, provides an idyllic setting to savor a cup of coffee in the morning, enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, chat with fellow travelers who are feeling social, and observe the pleasant rhythm of this charming residential neighborhood.
Frequently Asked Questions: Planning Your Trip
While pets are not permitted in Suites 1-4 at the Kubli Haus, they are warmly welcomed in Studio 5.
Check-in is at 4:00 pm. Check-out is at 11:00 am.
Street parking is readily available around the Kubli Haus. Be sure to obtain a parking permit from the owners upon arrival.
